In Situ

In art, in situ refers to a work of art made specifically for a host site, or that a work of art takes into account the site in which it is installed or exhibited.

RECYCLAGE ET URBANITE

A group of student of the school of architecture of Grenoble made a project in an old waste reception centre. During one very creative week they invited musicians, philosophers und artists to make a residence and work at this location. The result was a day with concerts, forums and exhibitions.

On the one hand, I did an exhibition with a selection of pictures that were made during the creative week.

On the other hand I participated in a project with "Out Is", a band from Grenoble.
The band was recording industrial sounds within the waste reception centre. These sounds were later used for samples and the structure for the finished composition. I was constantly shadowing this process and
documented this in a photo-series. The photos were shown along as visuals at their final concert.

 MOULINS DE VILLANCOURT

In 2008, I took part in a collective exhibition with 2 other artists at a former old mill. This place was converted into a music school and an art gallery.

When I saw this special location for the first time, and immediately fell in love with it.
I decided to make a series of photography of this place. The pictures were shown 2 months later at the art gallery during the collective exhibition.
I used a very basic technique by sticking her pictures directly onto the wall, and not using any frames or any extra gimmicks.

THE POST OFFICE

In 2006, I worked for 4 months as a post woman in a little village in the South East of France. Every morning was starting with putting all the letters in order at the central distribution centre. This place inspired me to pay more attention to very small details, which is reflected in the photography series. The work was later presented at the distribution centre and therefore the work/ art was made accessible to the co-workers, which would not necessarily appreciate art as such.
But because the photos referred to their daily lives, it gained a great and very positive respond from my work mates and the local community.
